About Frances

IMG_0533My name is Frances Sutherland and I am now indulging in much more quality free time, since leaving my teaching post on early retirement in 2013. I felt that it was really important for my lifestyle and wellbeing to take on a new work/home balance.

Now I have real time to revisit hobbies and skills of the past: singing, musical theatre, knitting, sewing, cooking and fitness.Β It’s amazing how each day and week is still so full, but busy in a new and more relaxing way. I love it!

I have always been interested in technology and recently Pinterest has really got me motivated; my Boards truly reflect who I am and what I like.

Next step for me had to be writing this Blog….

I felt it was time for an update…I really am enjoying this new venture.

My blog is taking shape now, and I really have a few themes running through my posts:

  • Finding quotes
  • iPhoneography (it amazes me how great the iPhone camera really is)
  • My favourite recipes
  • Yoga & Meditation
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Music
  • Poetry…yes even Poetry

Hope you enjoy sharing my journey and experiences with me!

  2. Hi Frances! Thanks for following my blog! I am a teacher too! Just off for the summer and like you, I am making time to do things that interest me! Part of preserving sanity I think! My second name is Frances as well! Love your blog!

  3. Thank for the follow and and on Pinterest. God works in strange ways. My caregiver Alita work this morning she had to get the key from my

  4. Hi Frances. It was interesting to read about a fellow retired teacher! Yoiu seem to have lots to do to keep you occupied. I share your love of cooking – although I don’t do a cookery blog. I adore knitting and dressmaking and have been a fitness fanatic all my life. At the moment the knitting and sewing are on hold while I get on with my books, but as soon as I finish this one, I’ll be knitting like mad for a while – I’m already feeling withdrawal symptoms. As for cooking, I tend to be more inot baking, although I experiment with new mealtime recipes now and trhen. I loved your cottage pie recipe, so I’ be gining that a try.. πŸ™‚
