Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow too.
It’s Day 5 of my Sing a Rainbow Challenge and that means it is purple, another of my favourite colours. It goes so well with my other favourite colour green, and they set the tone for my colour palette for my decor style.
Purple is a secondary colour; a combination of red and blue. I love all shades of purple: amethyst, heather, lilac, lavender, grape, orchid, magenta, plum, mulberry and violet.
It is the colour of peace and meditation. I like to light a lilac candle in the evenings to create a calming atmosphere, when I wind down and practise my Mindful Mediation.
Purple is a very popular colour for garden landscaping and let’s not forget the sensational scent from growing lavender.
The bees love these colourful flowers…
Look out for purple amongst the wild flowers.
Such a vivid colour…love it!
This one stands tall!
The iris is the symbol of faith, passion and purity.
And I had to include a Scottish Thistle: it’s our national emblem!
